Identifying My Personal Weaknesses

Unless we live a healthy lifestyle we each have weaknesses that effect how healthy we are. In this case it doesn’t really matter if you are five hundred pounds or you weight what you should (or less then you should). The food we eat and the way we move effect how healthy we are and weight has nothing to do with it.

My personal weaknesses are as follows:

  • Exercise: It isn’t that I am against exercise. I actually enjoy doing it. However, I struggle to make time for it. I know I am not alone in this. I have my list of excusses as does everyone else. I am trying to make a living online which requires a lot of time and a lot of work. I am also a stay at home mom to a two month old baby and a three year old. My husband works 40-60 hours a week and is usually pretty tired when he gets home. All in all, I still haven’t figured out how to squeeze regular exercise into my day and still get everything else done.
  • I eat medium on the healthy scale. I like foods that are good for me and do eat them fairly often. However I am an addict for eating out (more because I hate cooking then I actually like the food). This leads to some bad food choices that I know aren’t good for me.
  • I am also an over eater. This comes from years of doing it. As a kid we had some really bad habits, especially with desserts. My mom, brother, and I were the only people in our household. When we had an item the we all liked and that fell into the dessert category we split it in thirds. Rather then eat a little of your portion at a time and over a couple of days you ate it in one sitting knowing that it wouldn’t be there when you went back to it because one of the other people (usually my mom) would eat it while you weren’t looking. While I have come a long way from those days I still struggle with not over eating.
  • I also have a sugar hang up. I don’t believe that sugar and desserts are evil (though many do), however I like to eat them too much. This means if they are in the house I will eat them. Sometimes eating too much at one sitting and other times eating them in replace of a healthy meal.

These are my biggest weaknesses. I know that to accomplish my goals in weight loss and getting healthy I will have to over come each and everyone of these in order to live a better life.
